French soldiers of the American Revolution
Is there any type of list here in America or France that would list the names of the soldiers or sailors who fought in the American Revolution? I am doing genealogy research on my husband's family and have been told that his 4th great-grandfather came to America to fight in the revolution. We have his first name but not a correct spelling of his last name and told that he married a lady from NJ. He had two sons who changed the last name spelling. I cannot verify that this man even existed other than what has been "told to us." The censuses and NARA have been of no help without a correct spelling. Thank you
