    PEX questions
    Hi again,

I had a bunch of copper pipe freeze a few weeks ago, so I'm replacing everything with PEX. My understanding is that it is very freeze-break resistant. This is my first experience with PEX. So of course, I have some questions:

1 - When I crimp on the fittings, sometimes I can rotate the elbow. Is that normal? Is the joint good?

2 - I bought a 100' coil of 3/4" and 1/2". When I cut it and use it, it retains the curve of the coil, but I'd like straight pieces. Is there a way to straighten out the coiled pieces, or do I need to purchase straight pieces?

3 - What's the track record for PEX? Is this the polybutylene of the 21st century?

    Thanks,

    Glenn
