    Diverter shooting out water!
I have a delta single-knob handle. When we turn on the water, water shoots out of the diverter. The shower still works, but the water is constantly shooting out of the diverter. Any suggestions?

By diverter do you mean tub spout? If so replace tub spout.

It is the button that we push in. It makes the water from the spout come from the shower head instead. Sorry, I know I may not make sense. Thanks for any help.

Is the diverter knob on the wall or is in on the thing that the water comes out.

You said "shooting out". If that a correct description and you don't mean just leaking around the diverter then that sounds like you remove it and didn't reinstall it correctly.

It may be loose diverter stem or packing nut. Anybody worked on your plumbing recently.

I am so sorry, but I do not have "post quick answer" or advanced. I don't know what I have done incorrectly.

Ok, you will have to remove the handle and that round trim plate. Once removed, you will see where exactly is water shooting from. There is a nut that holds that diverter stick in and also an "O" ring. I suspect that "O" ring is bad... Back to you... Milo

Yes, can you see that droplet of water ? That's where the narrower stick enters the larger tubing. There is a "O" ring inside. I think that O ring is gone. It looks like this...

Does the diverter have slight movement when you shake with it ?

Also, turn water On with the trim plate away from the wall. Confirm where exactly is water coming out from...
