    Program.exe - Bad Image?
    Every program that tries to open comes up with this error.

    program.exe - Bad Image
    C:\Windows\system32\wow64.dll is either not designed to run on Winodws or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

    It points to that dll in every error. Does this mean something?

    Are you running on a 64 bit machine as WoW64 is related to running 32 bit code on 64 bit machines ?

    In that case rebuild.
    Seems something messed up.

    As a side are you using a deployment server, i.e. PXE, or building with discs ?

    This is a personal laptop for a friend (more like my platoon Sgt) :)
    Got no discs, wondering if there was a band-aid approach?

    My suggestions:

    a) Open command prompt (as an administrator), in cmd type:
    Regsvr32 /s wow64.dll

    b) If that doesn't work, try using: SFC /SCANNOW

    c) If that doesn't work, I believe Sony's have a recovery partition you can boot from (I think its F10 while the BIOS screen shows / before windows boots) (You might have to look that up)

    A) I have tried re-registering and nothing happens. After typing the command it just goes back to a blinking prompt. (which is understandable because it's silent (ie: no dialogue boxes are shown) either way it doesn't help!


    B) SFC/Scannow errors out as well (I will post error later, it takes awhile to get to that point)

    C) No it doesn't. I almost think it was deleted!

    I go to the wow64.dll location and the file is blank. It's 0kb and I found a copy elsewhere (buried deep) and it's 229kb (same name) but it won't let me replace the one in the system32 folder

    :D I'm laughing so hard I almost peed.

    There is a recovery partition. It's not listed in Computer and the F10 wasn't working so I figured it was deleted. Good ole' me took the keyboard off and hit the F10 with another key and it worked. F10 is broken hahaha... now I just need an external hmmm...

    System Recovery Console via the recovery discs I had allowed me to copy a clean dll to the system32 folder and all is good now!

    Yup saved me from backing up and re-installing.

    Now I just have to tell him his F10 is broke! ;)
