    Wills domestic partner
    If my domestic partner in NY left me her IRA but her will leaves everything to her son,
    Am I protected?

    Depends upon whether the IRA is part of her estate. If it properly names you as the beneficiary, it would not be and you would get it.

    Are you listed on the beneficiary on the IRA ?
    Does the will state anything contrary to that ?

    Normally the IRA will not go into the estate if it was set up properly
