    Principles of installing a ceiling fan?

    The best method is to bring the power to the ceiling outlet and then run a switch loop for the control of the light. Also, connect the fan a constant hot at the same time.

    Depends on the situation. Can you give us some more detail about what it is you are doing and want to know?

    For a brand new installation I differ from Don as I think bringing the feed to the switch box is better and run a 3-wire to the fan for separate control from the wall.
