    Hampton Bay Windward II
I have a HB Windward II 54" fan with a circline light. Had it for three years. The light was working fine up until recently. Changed the bulb but still not working. Checked the batteries. The fan works fine. Thank you.

These fans have problems with the receiver and light electronics. You can contact Hampton Bay for replacement parts or exchange the fan at Home Depot for a new one.

I am not having much luck yet. Went to HD they said to call Hampton Bay. When I called them I was told since the fan is 3 years old I would have to pay for the parts. Only the motor is covered under lifetime warranty, and if that needs to be replaced, I have to pay shipping and mail it to them. I am not a happy camper. How did others get the replacement receiver? Did they have to pay for it?

    Thanks. Dashwp.

That's BS as far as I know. The whole fan is covered under warranty, and if you bring it back to HD they should replace it. They've done it for me.

I am having the same problem with my fan. The light just stopped working and I replaced the bulb. Still not working.

Do the same thing the other people have done. Take the fan back to Home Depot for a replacement under warranty.

Fans with fluorescent bulbs have a ballast in them, when the ballast goes bad the light won't work. My Hampton Bay fan used a TCP EC2T-36 HPF 36W Ballast; I found a replacement at Amazon.com under part no. 12536Q which is a direct replacement. All I can say is un-plug your ballast (if it's like mine, it'll separate from the top half once you pull the two locking tabs back) look at the pick at Amazon.com, it should be self explanatory. Once you have it removed Google the part number.

PS Please make sure the power is off first.
