    Secular or non-secular ?
    Secular

Iraq is slowly becoming a more decent, stable society now it is embracing democracy and, particularly, becoming more secular. I think this should be a message to the other countries that base their regime on religious doctrine.

    Hello R:

    Couple things:

Iraq WAS secular BEFORE we invaded. So, passing around THAT message is going to make us look like dufus's - which we were.

Plus, IF Iraq LOOKS like it's becoming decent and stable, it's ONLY because we have hundreds of thousands of ARMED soldiers KEEPING it that way.

If we were to leave, that country would regress into a civil war.

Like Iraq, Iran is coming out of a U S handpicked regime that allowed for economic dominance by the western powers, (Saddam, and the Shah of Iran, handpicked by U S ) That's just history after 1920, when oil was discovered. Make no mistake, they are still fighting for someone or something to fill the vacuum when Saddam falls and quiet as its kept, many are behind the scenes pulling strings to get some of that oil.

    Germany
    France
    Russia
    U S
    Britain
China... the list goes on, and its far from over.

The secular Messiah [ 79 Answers ]

The righteous left has a conniption fit over the alleged Bush "theocracy." The spiteful criticisms of "right-wing evangelical neocons" have been abundant on these pages. An alleged cross (or you can call it a bookcase) in a Huckabee ad stirred up all kinds of outrage. You know what, I'm more...
