I joined a chat site about a year ago and found it very hard to get a response in the Forums, no-one was interested in your threads unless you were in with the in crowd.. it was only when I started dating a regular user that they accepted me as a new poster... am now worndering if us Brits are just miserable gits and unfriendly, because you lot in these forums seem so much more friendly and helpful... keep up the good work.. am impressed that there are still some genuinely nice people out there.

Dang... I keep having to read 5 pages just to catch up with you people... lol. Thought I would check in and see what's happening, and let you all know that the exhaustion hasn't killed me yet, almost but not yet. The kids are doing great both have gained about two pounds now. They look like babies instead of old wrinkley men and women. I'm back into regular clothes... I'm proud, I've lost 20lbs. I'm only into my big jeans but it's better than maturnity... lol. I'm sick of those. Well it's feeding time and then a shower for mom... Shhhh! Don't tell the kids I'm taking time for that or they won't let me... hehehe. Oh Charlie slept through the night last night!! Tooo bad that Jessie isn't, she's easier to get back to sleep though. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Well, Myth my dear sounds like things are going great!!
JesusHelper was on his way to the hospital this morning. He has been away cause he was working the day shift this week. The cigars should be passed around any time I am hoping.
Well, scored a 92 on my dosage calculations yesterday and got my check off on my heat-to-toe exam.
Yea ME!!
I start working at the hospital next Tuesday!! I can't wait!

I would let her take a look but I think she would rather examine some body's toes and I'm too ticklish for that. A cat once snuck up on me and licked the bottom of my feet and had me rolling on the floor like a fool.

Well, I made it through my first day in clinicals. It was interesting to say the least.
I had many ask "How do you think you will handle it if someone dies on your shift?" My answer was that I would not know till I got there.
Well, it happened. My first day.
I guess I am a true nurse, because I was able to help the family without it totally affecting me.
I just have to say, today was one of the best experiences in my life!!

Hi J9. My youngest daughter works in a Nursing home. Her first death didn't hit her until after she had taken care of the family. I told her that death was as much a part of life as birth was. What made the difference is what you choose to do with your life in between. I don't think that you ever get used to it but when you hear what they did with their life makes it a little more manageable. I think helping the family is the important thing. You already helped the deceased as much as you could. I think you will be good at what you do for the people that you assist. Good luck with the rest of your studies.
