Rear bearing on General Electric clothes dryer
Can anyone tell me how to replace the rear bearing on dryer model DDE6500GALAD? I can put a drop of oil on it from the rear of the dryer and it stops squeaking for a few loads but then starts again. I can't find any documentation for it on the GE site. Thanks

Part number WE3X75, and should retail for under $10.00. Chances are the new bearing will be different from the one you have now. First, unplug the dryer. Then, you remove the small cover on the back of the dryer. Then remove the "E" clip at the end of the drum shaft, along with the washers directly behind that clip. Then open the dryer door and remove the screws that hold the dryer top down (screws go up into top of dryer). Then loosen the 5/16" screws under the front panel at the bottom front cabinet corners. Raise the top and remove the two 5/16" screws holding the front panel to the side panels. You may have to remove the wires to the door switch. If there are two wires, don't worry about location, as it doesn't matter. If there are three wires, then write down the locations before you remove the wires. Then pull the front panel off and rotate to the side. Pull the drum towards you slightly, just far enough to get the new bearing onto the shaft. Also, the new part will come with instructions on which parts to keep and which to not keep. Follow those instructions and reassemble the dryer. Let me know if you have questions about anything you see and good luck.

I have a GE Profile Dryer and need to replace the rear bearing also. I bought the Rear Bearing Kit and need to know what type of grease do I used for the rear bearing?
