    Babysitting Rates of Pay
I'm 17, and I've been babysitting for 4 years. I babysit for a family with a 1 year old; a family with two school-aged children; a family with one school-aged child and two rowdy toddlers; and a family with a newborn, two toddlers, and a school-aged kid. Some of them overpay me, while others always beg me to give them my rate. Problem is, I don't have one. What should I charge each family? The time I babysit for each family varies. The average is about 3 to 4 hours. By the way, I don't watch all these families' kids at once.

How long do you babysit for each time?
If I would ask a teenager to babysit for me... I would pay them twenty five bucks for a normal night out. If I were to ask a teenager to babysit for me for the whole day, 5.00 an hour would be good. (four kids) For a normal daycare here, it would cost 3.00 an hour or 500/month for full time care... each child. That is average here in Oregon, I don't know what the average is for you.
