    Identify Native American jewelry hallmarks
I am trying to find information on Mary B Smith with an upward pointing arrow beneath her name and another artist signed as IHMSS with a W that is underlined beneath the initials.
Both items are sterling silver bolo ties. Mary Smith has a turquoise carved frog in the center and the IHMSS piece is inlayed with a bird sitting on a branch. They were probably purchased between 1960-1980. The IHMSS clasp to tighten the leather cords reads Bennett Pat Pending C-31.

Mary B. Smith is the name of a Navajo silversmith for Atkinson Trading Company, according to Barton Wright in his book: "Hallmarks of the Southwest", pg. 159.
IHMSS stands for "Indian Handmade Sterling Silver". Hope this is helpful.

I use to work with a "Mary Smith" aka "Evening Sun" who made Native American crafts and sold them casually. She was also a truck driver.
