    Washing machine drain hose
I am getting a new washer and want to put it in a different place that the old one. The problem is it's about 8 feet from the standpipe. Can I put on a longer piece of drain hose and use it?

    Thanks,

    Rick

I just answered a question like yours. Your washer pump should be ablke to handle the extra length with no problem. I would install a washer hose check valve ,(see image) so the water left in the hose after the pump stops doesn't drain back into the washer tub. Good luck, Tom
