In addition to what was said by other contributors, keep in mind when you are reading system requirements for software like this, the requirements shown are the bare minimum. For instance, for anything but the Basic O/S, Vista requires a minimum of 1 GB of system memory. That does not mean that the software will run at its peak performance with 1 GB - quite the contrary. Personally, I would never try running a Windows O/S with the minimum system requirements, but always try to keep a margin above what is specified, especially with respect to system RAM.
Second, keep in mind any other drain that there may be on these system resources. For example, if you have an on-board video with your computer, the video memory is typically taken off the top from your system RAM, meaning that the memory left over for other programs including your O/S is reduced by the amount of that video RAM.
