Employment Law
I have had an ongoing problem with my employer paying correctly, mostly overtime money. It has caused me much financial difficulty. I have not been able to pay all of my bills for 4 months now, so of course my credit rating has suffered.I am now faceing forelosure on a property I own because of this , not to mention over $ 1,200 in overdreft fes in my account. I have gone with out eating, and also had to cancel plans to go away in July(which I lost money for). I have been emotionally syressed to the end of my rope and don't know how I will ever financially recover from this. I s there anything legally I can do?
PLEASE HELP!
Thank You
Carol Prader:(

First you should not be trying to live on overtime money, since you get your regular check, that would be what you should be livingon and paying your bills from.
As for as overdraft fees, that is not anyone's fault but your own, if you don't have money in the bank, don't write the check. That would save you all that money that you could have paid other bills with.
You track your hours, follow your pay and check each payday

You need to explain why you think you are not being paid correctly.
And Chuck has good points that the overdraft fees are your problem, not the employer's and you can't bank on O/T.

Hello s:
Well, you just dissed two of our best experts, so I spose you'll this me too. K, I can take it.
The very first paycheck this happened with should have been challenged by you with your boss. IF they said they would pay and DIDN'T, you shouldn't be working there. IF this went on for months, as you say, you'll have a harder time proving it, because a judge won't believe you let it go on as long as you did. I have a very hard time believing it too.
Given that you have problems layered upon other problems, I don't think you can straighten it out with your employer. I would quit and sue them in small claims court.
K, I'm ready for my reddie.

Thanks for the balancer guys, but I have my points turned off, so they can't effect me at all.
But this is an example, of a person who can not handle their money, has poor budget issues and wants to blame someone else for all of their own personal problems. So their OT is not always right, the rest of their check should be. So you go into payroll and it is corrected on the next check.
