It's sad ,but many of us go through this. It is an ache in your heart. It's hard to take, but it's time to move on. If in the future the opportunity arises where you can connect, go for it. Who knows? Otherwise, I know it hurts, but chalk it up to life pains. I once met a gal on summer vacation when I was your age. We didn't live near each other and I thought I would die when she went home. I didn't and nor did she. Now I can barely picture her, but I always have the memory of that summer vacation.

I would say that even if you try to have a long distance relationship, which would be your only realistic option, at your age and with such a long distance between you it is unlikely that a serious relationship would go very far. My suggestion/advice would be to keep in contect with him as much as possible by phone or online or whatever it may be, but just as friends.
