Why do I have this headache?
I woke up with a headache I've had numerous times. It's ALWAYS on the right side.

It feels like it's behind my right eye, as well as at the base of my skull where it meets my neck.

Any reason for this? It never comes around after anything specific like TV or lights, after all I was only sleeping this time.

Probably best to get your Doctor involved, but a couple of things come to mind. If you are a caffeine user, when the body is used to getting the caffeine then has to do without for a period, can create a sort of rebound effect resulting in a headache. The same can happen with NSAIDs. Other possibilities, tension, sinuses. All guesses mind you.
I hope you get them figured out and under control.

@TUT - It does sound a tad like that, however I haven't had the pain for long. Well, it's been a few years, but on and off. I'll go months without it. Is it possible I slept funny, and the pain in my neck spread?

@Sam - I'm rather a big tea drinker, I started when I was about 9. However I have started using two teabags instead, as my cup is big and I like it strong.

    Thank you for your responses!

Hi Dani, it sounds like you're having a migraine, when I had them I would go into a dark room and lie down, if it last more than 2 days go and see your doctor, he/she may send you for a scan, depending on how bad it was, they may do a strobe light test, to see if they can trigger a migraine attack.

    Hey, thanks for the input.

I've had migraines before, but none like this. They're never usually specific to one part of my head.

Aye they never last more than a day. Hmm.
