Just like anyone else trying to find employment, he has to keep submitting applications and knocking on doors. Felons don't get any special treatment or consideration.

Try day labor places, car and semi truck wash companies
Pressure wash companies ( that do cleaning) Courier companies that have you as a contract worker.

Hi, felony!
What sort of education, skills and training does your nephew already have, please? Depending on those sort of things, it may be possible that he could build upon that which he already knows in order to create a profile and position for himself, be it by being employed by others or by being self-employed.
Thanks!

Hi again, felony!
Here's another idea...
Around where I live and also in Chicago, IL there's an organization that helps people re-enter the workforce once they are free to go looking for work It's called the Safer Foundation. The link is HERE.
Maybe there might be a similar organization in San Diego? If you contact the Safer Foundation, they might know of similar programs, in and around San Diego.
Thanks!

Not true. Have him check with the Probation Department. They partner with businesses in town that can earn tax credits for hiring people that they normally would not consider.
Tell him best wishes for me.

Perhaps in your area. It is different in Chicago. It is different in NY.
In NY job assistance also depends on the type of felony - drugs, violence, repeatedly driving intoxicated or something else.

I understand the Metropolitan Transit District takes ex-cons for bus drivers.
