Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer will not drain
The washer runs through the wash cycle but when it is suppose to drain it does nothing. There is no hum just dead. I drained the tub out and disconnected the hose from the back thinking the drain was plugged. But when I did this the rest of the water from the tub drain out no problem. I'm thinking it might be a switch problem but the drain cycle does not work on any of the settings i.e. (permanent press, hand wash or normal) I would like some direction before I go taking it all apart. Thanks

If you have no noise at all during drain cycle and you are comfortable at testing you access the timer in the contol panel. Unplug unit first. Look at the electrical diagrahm. Follow the elec. Circuit during the drain cycle. Now with unit pluged back in carefully get your meter and check for voltage thought this cycle. Check the contacts for the drain cycle and make sure they are clean and not stuck. These tyyes of problems need to be checked put thoroughly or you are just guessing and replace expensive parts that may or may not correct problem. Once you have found the electrical circuit you could carefully jumper it to see if cycle starts. If this checks out proceed to the pump and check it. Good Luck and post back if you need more help. Someone here or myself will try and help you out

Thanks. I read some more on this forum last night and it appears my problem is the lid switch. Going to test out the super glue in a few minutes!

My washers makes a clicking noise when the spins cycle attempts. Looking at the motor it appears to run because tha water drains. But the clutch doesn't seem to engage. Thoughts?

Your drain pump is probably clogged or the motor spinning the drain pump stripped the pump if something got logged in it. I had the same problem I had a sock somehow stuck in the drain pump. I dislodged it and still no draining then I saw the motor spinning but the drain pump wasn't I saw that the input for the drain pump to motor plastic piece was stripped. A new one was around 30 bucks. A lot less than a new washer .

My whirlpool washer just started doing this. I ran a full load previously without any problems. Trying to wash a 2nd load today, and the machine will fill and agitate for a couple of minutes, and then it just stops. It won't spin/drain. It makes NO clicking noises or attempts to drain. It won't spin/drain on any of the other cycle settings. It's like the signal isn't getting through. Is this a pump problem? Or is it a timer problem?

Great news guys... I found and read your posting and was able to troubleshoot my problem [which was exactly like the ones posted here agitation on all cycles but no drain/spin/rinse]... Thanks a million. It was the lid switch. It had opened up, basically falling apart. I unscrewed it, clamp it back together & re-enforced it so it won't open back up, refit it to the machine... And walla... back 2normal. Hope this can somebody
