Hmmmm ... at the bottom of that page is the "ground floor opportunity" stuff which reeks of dodgy MLM.

Ha!!! What does that mean...."dodgy mlm?????" The sticky notes are absolutely free but of course I'm marketing my biz and products. You don't have to buy or sign up but the offer still stands as free!!!!!!! NO STRINGS ATTACHED!!!!

I will take that off just to make sure that everyone knows that I'm just offering something fun!!!!

Cool. I didn't want anyone to shy away form getting the free sticky notes.

The reason I used those terms is your content at the bottom of the page is the same as multi-level-marketers use to recruit underlings for schemes that rarely pan out for the lower levels. Plus why not say what the product is and what it costs right there on the page?

GREAT point!! I have the cost of the candle business start-up just one click away in the "tell me more" link. It's only $39.95/mos. to get started. Just so that you don't think I'm hiding it!!! LOL!!!

I'm wondering why this thread wasn't pulled. This is clearly and admittedly an advertising attempt which is prohibited by the rules.

Nah Scott, she's simply giving away free post-it style notepads. Originally there was ad stuff at the bottom of that page but she removed it.

Comments on this post
ScottGem agrees: Ahh I see. As long as the promotional material was removed.

Hmmm I just checked the link and there are still links to the business pages. I also question the need to collect e-mail addresses. The fact that the form has marketing questions on it makes matters worse. And the chutzpah to claim the info is needed to PREVENT spam complaints is laughable.

If this was simply an attempt to get rid of a mistaken overbuy, then all that should be necessary is a page with nothing more than a form to collect mailing info. Anything else makes this a blatant attempt to gather names and attract people to her site. Note there is no privacy policy or link to one listed on that page. This means the info on that form can be sold to other marketers.

I don't see ANY reason why this thread was allowed to stay up.
