I am guessing you or somebody else, maybe behind your back, has been slipping them tidbits from the table. Be very careful to cut the table food out. Keep offering them the dog chow. Most Lab puppies will snarf up what ever you give them and look for more. It won't hurt to let him go a day or 2 without eating. He should go back to eating the dog chow when he sees that is all he is going to get. You might stick to one of the more concentrated chows with a light eater. Remember, if you can't see his ribs, there isn't a problem.

We have been feeding him the food recommended by the breeder (pedigree puppy mixed with the complete biscuits). He has not been given anything other than this apart from the dog treats - for doing his bisiness outside. I have given him something from my plate once just to see if it was just his meals he was being parky with, and he nearly took my fingers off eating that, that is the only time that he has been given anything other than his own food, there is only myself and my wife in house so there's no one else who could feed them as the chldren are too young.

Could your puppy be getting the food that your young children drop from their highchairs?

Good point Becky. When our son was a baby, we had a dog that would eat almost anything. He would turn down fresh lettuce, but if the baby had slobbered on it teething, he would even eat that.

No, we don't let them in the room when kids are eating - nor while we are eating now as they try to jump up. Anthing the kids might drop is always cleaned up straight away.

I agree with labman. We used to raise labs. And still have 2. They are totally ruled by their tummies and will eat until you take it away and still look for more. Are you sure wife isn't feeding them? Are you sure kids feed the dogs at other times or have snaks or something in between they might be getting? If you are positive they are not getting snaks. You could try weighing them. To be sure, if they are gaining weight then they are eating somewhere. But if you have ruled out all(do they get outside on a regular baisi) we have a lab that will not eat when it is 90 degrees outside or when he has not been outside to run around and use it up(weirdo lab) But if you have ruled out all I would take them to the vet to see.
We have found with disagreeable dogs we have had, finicky. Iams dog food works every time. Especially canned, sometimes a dog needs the extra moisture that a can of dog food(Iams) to break up the dry dog food you give.
But at 7 weeks they are so young to be picky. Good Luck ranieri

Yeah, positive that wife isn't feeding them as this is her now lol, and children are always supervised too, we've found tonight that he will will from the other puppys bowl as long as other pup is eating from it, but won't eat a lot and he is looking rather thin. He is due for injections next week so I will ask vet about it then.
Thanks for help
