I used to frequent this forum several years ago, but I lost touch. Received an email a few weeks ago, so I decided to log back in. It appears that my account is still active!
Any of the original...

Change the filter, shut the system down and allow pleanty of time to thaw. Start it back up, be sure the indoor blower is running. If it starts freezing again, it's time to place a service call, it...
-
I'd say you have some sort of problem with your system. Might start by checking your filter. You are better off starting your own thread, your questions will get many more answers.
-
Dirty filter, windows open, bad thermostat, ghost turning thermostat up and down?
-
I'd replace the flame sensor for sure to start. Spraying air freshners shouldn't matter if the system is direct vent,it's drawing combustion air from outside.
-
-
Oh wow, I hope your thermostat falls off the wall jerk off.
-
Just curious, have they ever replaced the flame sensor? Is your intake near a dryer vent or any chemicals at all,hot tub pool etc? I have seen this a few times, normally it happens when combustion air...
-
First, make sure you have gas present.
-
Yes, Ruud/Rheem still makes a 90% furnace. Not sure about the "deluxe" part.
-
Also, make sure you have gas present, make sure the burners are not rusted closed, if the burner in front of the ignitor is plugged the burners won't light.
-
That model number is the fan motor, what is the actual model number on the unit?
-
You really should check and or adjust gas pressure to be safe, especially if you are L.P gas. You will need a manometer to do so. If your gas pressure is too high you risk ruining your heat...
-
It is very possible that the circuit board is bad, the only way to know for sure is with a voltage meter. That price seems kind of high.
-
A G14 is a pulse furnace. You are pretty good if you were able to remove the flame sensor, they are pretty tricky to get out.
I need a little more info, how long does it run once it starts to...
-
No, that is not normal. It could be a number of things, maybe a gas valve going bad,gas pressure issue or even dirty burners.
Either way, I strongly suggest shutting the furnace down and getting a...
-
First you need to check the pilot light if it has one. Remove the doors from the furnace, should be a little metal peep hole just above the gas valve, open and check for a small flame... post back...

No problem at all. Glad to help!
-
Does the fireplace have a bypass switch? I know most brands have some type of bypass that bypasses the wall thermostat and runs the fireplace continuous. Would be located near the gas valve.
-
-
Yep! It works great. Pretty tough trying to explain how to operate to a 75 year old man, it was a lot different than the 50 year old dinasaur that He had.
-
Make sure you have power to the outdoor unit, check for any tripped breakers.
-
It depends on the age of the unit, it may be pretty tough to find one for an older unit. The next problem is that if you do find one it WILL be very expensive not to mention freight and labor costs....
-
They just love thermostats I know that much.
-
Oh wow! For some reason I'm not surprised.
-
I'd save the old one as I'm sure it just needs cleaned, about 90% of the time cleaning does the trick.
Another thing, make sure you have a good strong pilot when it lights, a furnace this old...
-
Wire for wire should do the trick. Nothing will connect to the "L" terminal, put a jumper wire between "W2 and E2" and connect whatever is on "W" to those terminals. "O" on the old stat will go to O/B...
-
I'm not real familiar with that unit but,it sounds like it has an intermitent pilot. Does it have a spark ignitor on the pilot? If so it may just be a dirty flame sensor, not allowing the pilot to be...
-
First thing to let you know is a G51 is still under warranty, this furnace has 10 year parts and labor warranty. So if to no avail contact your local Lennox dealer.
Assuming this furnace is in the...

Maybe the roach was just playing dead?
-
I second that, copper sizes will stay the same. A different set of gauges will be required.
-
At this point you stand to gain a lot with new more efficient furnace, a few good reasons to replace would be safety, peace of mind and if you are located in the U.S you would be eligible for tax...

EconomyAC, While I usually don't suffer fools?? You sir are an arrogant know it all pile of sh1t in my book. You can keep your future comments towards me to yourself and I'll do the same. I don't...

Any kind of low voltage thermostat should work.
-
Do they have wall mounted thermostats? I'm guessing they have milivolt generators, the one that won't fire may have a bad generator (thermopile),try bypassing the thermostat,if it still will not...
-
There should be two wires at the thermostat, remove one, if the fireplace shuts off, replace the thermostat. Does the fireplace that won't light have a pilot light? What brand fireplaces are they? Do...
-
No problem at all. Glad you got it fixed!
-
If the flames are not rolling out, replace the rollout switch.
-
Try to find a honeywell or white-rodgers to replace it,be sure to purchase the right thermostat for your system. Stay away from Hunter or Maple-chase,not very reliable thermostats. Good-luck!
-
Time to replace the thermostat. There really isn't any adjusting. You can try removing the batteries and letting it sit blank for a few minutes.
-
Sounds like a dirty flame sensor. Sounds like you have located the ignitor, on the opposite side from the ignitor there will be a small silver rod, most likely held in place by one screw, remove...
-
I have never had any trouble getting parts through my local supplier, but I found a couple websites. Results for Furnace Parts:Heil, Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, Tempstar
-
Something is strange, Have you watched the burners during a cycle? Do they seem to rollout anywhere close to that switch during a heat cycle?
-
So you are manually reseting the rollout switch each time?
-
-
We will need a little more imformation on your system to help you, model number of the furnace to start. Does anything try to start on the furnace? We can't read minds, give as much description as...
-
This is a selfcontained unit, When you turn the unit to heat, the combustion fan should start, which vents out the top of the unit. It could be a number of things, you are better off hiring a pro on...
-
Was the old thermostat labeled, if so what wires went where on the old thermostat?
-
Well first make sure the burners and orfices are cleaned, a partially blocked orfice could block the proper amount of gas from reaching the burners. If all is well there, check gas pressure, for this...

Any mobile home furnace, Trane makes a furnace that is mobile home approved as do several other brands. They have to be sealed combustion and take combustion air from outside. Be prepared, most mobile...
