You are right, to many parenthesis. Here is the correct the equation.

f(x)=[(x+∆x+2)/(x+∆x)]-[(x+2)/(x)]

f(x)=[(x+∆x )+2/((x+∆x))]-[((x)+2/((x) )) ]
