Never mind. I finally found got an external mouse to allow me to enable the touchpad. This problem has tortured me for days. I will NOT leave my laptop open for the cat to sit on, again!!

I am having this same problem - darn silly cat! Anyway, I cannot get to the Ease of Access options since my touchpad/pointer is kaput on my laptop (Vista). I can select it using my up/down arrows but...
