I'm interested to know if convicted felons can apply for some financial aid of any sort .. Are there specifically any scholarships for felons to apply?

Thanks

There's plenty, for everyone you don't have to be a felon.

Hello everyone. My name is Chaplain Kurt. I'm an ex-prisoner from Michigan when in 1995 while walking a Michigan level one prison track, God called me into ministry. Since then, I have designed my own website Breaking The Spirtual Shackles where I have some useful links for felons who need education assistance. Please check it out!

I am just in shock at some of these responses. Felons have a very hard time in life, no one wants to give money to an ex-con, even if it is to go back to school to help them or their family or even just to get a job is a struggle! My husband is a convicted felon who has been out for 5 years and not in trouble once since, only one traffic ticket for a seat belt and still cannot find a decent job or funding for school. All you people who think you are better just cause you have something going for you in your life, GET A LIFE! FELONS ARE PEOPLE TOO & DESERVE TO BE TREATED THAT WAY! You know where you can stick it!

I am a felon, and some people may think that felon's are the worst people in the world. I on the other hand was a wild child and made a few wrong decisions in my life. Some people on here seem to think that they are better than others and want to act cute and say sly remarks. But let me tell you that for myself, this is not a joke. This is my life. I am a 26 year old, and a mother and I want to be someone my children can be proud of. And Yes we all understand that there are plenty of grants and scholarships out there, but what I think the person was asking is about specific scholarships for felons, and YES, THERE IS ! You have to look in the right places. Talking to the financial aid office of the collage your are applying to is very helpful. I am currently going through that myself. Never loose faith and never give up looking and trying. You will find a way to better yourself, I promise. That promise was made to me and now I am now doing what I know I should be doing and what makes me happy.
Thanks

I really hate it when people don't believe how hard life after prison is... I am 24 years old and a convicted felon, I sentenced to prison at 19 years and was 23 before my stay there ended... After being free for 18 months I'm absolutely fed up with the reality I face every day... Yes there are resources available to me and every convicted felon seeking to do and be something better... However they are damn near impossible to find and it's frustrating... So to the ones looking to better themselves and their life, don't give up there is help and to everyone else please, even if you can't understand, just please know that it really is much harder than you think and offer us what we need most, someone who believes in us when it gets hard to believe in our selves...
