How do I get what I need done without everything being ruined?

I'm really not exactly sure where to put this, because it's about Financial Aid, but it's about my mother not paying her taxes so I can't get it.

Here's the issue. I'm a full time student in college right now. I filed for Financial Aid, but it's not finished going through because my mom hasn't filed her taxes. The semester is almost over and i still haven't gotten my Financial Aid because of it. She said that she owes money that she can't pay right now so she can't file them. I also know that it's illegal to not file your taxes. I told her that she should file and have them bill her so that way her tax information is availabe for financial Aid and I can get my stuff paid, adn she can pay the supposed $200 that she owes bit by bit.

I won't be able to register for next semester classes if she doesn't file her taxes. I talked to the Financial Aid office and they said that there was no way for me to get my financial Aid without her tax information.

My mother has been putting this off for months and I'm getting really pissed. I'm not asking for her to pay for my collegs, I'm asking for her to file her taxes so that I can get my financial Aid in and have most of my college paid for.

Every time i bring it up she talks about how she's "doing the best she can" That's all she ever says, but I see no action. Than she says "just because you can't see what I'm doing, doesn't mean I'm not working on it"

THe truth is, is that's her excuse for everything, adn it has been ever since I can remember. She's all talk and no action. She's been putting htis on the backburner for WAY too long, and it's costing me my education and my future.

Every time I bring it up she tells me that I'm an ungrateful spoiled child, and that I should do things for myself to pay for my college. That's exactly what I'm trying to do, I just need her tax information, that's ALL. I can't even get subsidized loans without her tax information.

I'm at my wits end and I'm desperate. I would just pay for her taxes myself but I have no money and accumulating overdraft fees because my check from work is being delayed. So the charges on my account are piling up, and I'm going broke. The deadline for applying to classes is the 11th. I'm going crazy. I just want to go to school, I don't want to drop out because she can't be responsible.

PLEASE, What should I do?!

I think your question would be best in the Scholarships & Financial Aid section.

Keep trying to talk to your mom. But you should go to the legal aid clinic at your school to see what options you have. You should also try speaking with someone in your faculty about your situation.

Which country do you live in?
