Close my 401K account

I'd like to close my 401K account, and pay off a bill I have, but I don't qualify for none of the Hardship cases. What can I do besides taking out a loan on my 401k? What I want to do is, just close my account and take my money back, but I'm not sure if I could do that. What are my choices?

No you really don't want to close it. If you close it, you will not only pay a 10 percent penalty but have to pay your taxes on it also. So you can expect to pay 35 to 45 percent of the money in your account in taxes and penalties if you take it out. The smartest thing to do is take a loan out on it,

I agree with Fr_Chuck. And be sure to pay back the loan!!!! That 401(k) may look useless to you right now, a worthless money hog, but rest assured, when you are 55 or older, you will be so very glad you have it and what other monies have gone into it. And yeah, I know it's hard to imagine being old, but that time will arrive faster than you can say "Jack Robinson"!!
