Reference information

Hi,

I work for a large Corporate company, and have recently resigned.

4 years ago a shockingly poor performing contractor who lost their job came after me and tried to take me to an employement tribunal for unfair dismissal and all manner of other allegations. I was their manager at the time. After a year of proving my innocence through an internal company investigation, the ex employee droped the case and withdrew the complaint. The tribunal was cancelled. My company completely cleared me of any wrong doing and my yearly performance review was uneffected. No action was taken and I have since been a consistantly high performing employee at this company.

My question is will any of this be stated when they provide a company reference to my new employer. I am paranoid because even though I was completely cleared of all accusations, and I continued to have a great career at the company, this x-employee may come back to haunt me.

Will there be any reason for this to be made known in my company reference. I know only our HR department give references so it should be tightly controlled. Also does a scheduled employement tribunal of 4 years ago, which was ultimately cancelled, appear on any records that the new company may check?

Thanks
