You want to know how to use the Likert scale in order to gather statistics?

Pick a subject, say, pets. Then make up questions:

On a scale of 1 to 5, how likely are you to buy a dog from an AKC breeder during the next six months?
/1........../2........../3........../4........../5

On a scale of 1 to 5, how likely are you to adopt a dog from a shelter during the next six months?

And so on. You need to have a very specific study in mind.
