You can find good information simply by doing a search in the Interenet, but I know it can be hard to find specifically what you might need.
If found this article on Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, it is a few pages long, but it contains loads of info including civil rights, etc.
Go to this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore
If for some reason it doesn't work, just go to wikipedia.org and do a search on Singapore. If you go through all of the information there, you should not have any problem finding what you need. If you need anything else, just ask! Hope this helps and best of luck.
