Listen I'm Jewish and my heritage has had to endure many accusations such as being called the Christian's J killer and numerous blood libels. As for Muslims, well perhaps when a Muslim speaks to this issue it has other rational given a different set of circumstances, or may be not the norm for most Muslims, or may be just that you are you buying into a witch hunt?! Do you know how many people died because they had dimples or black cats for pets?! It just makes people that act out in the name of religion appear more regressive to the rest of society. Your post appears very anti-Muslim and spiteful so be careful and not to blanket a whole people. I did recently hear of a ritual from India where the majority population is Hindu if you want to check the link below. I don't know the exact numbers of people involved in the ritual or how widely spread the ritual is prcatised. Personally I have nothing against peaceful seeking Muslims or Hindu or whomever. The only thing I'd say is that for the sake of humanity nobody should endanger a baby's precious life.

Skell, good point. I think you're referencing the Catholic Church for some misdeeds. Thankfully most priests are not like that, but I always thought the Catholics should let their priests marry. Currently in the US we are dealing with an extremist sect of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints which broke from the Mainstream Mormon Church, from my understanding. Anyway they have been charged with polygamy (which is illegal here), child endangerment, there could be pedophilia and rape charges as well. Their founder was marrying off underage girls to grown men.

You condemn the Muslim religion based upon a bizarre practice of a particular culture. If you want to speak about the religion then speak about the religion. If you want to discuss a tradition of a small group of people, which has no relation to the religion (other than that they happen to be of that religion), then discuss that, but don't confuse the two.

At the time I first viewed this video, the only description reported was that it was a Muslim tradition in India.

I was so shocked, I immediately wondered how anyone else felt about it, and I posted it for discussion.

I have since discovered that it is actually a Muslim/Hindu tradition in India and not specifically a Muslim only tradition, so I have been corrected as far as that goes.

I will admit that I don't know everything about Muslims and I'm sure that there are many who are very good people and mean no harm to anyone. Unfortunately, what I do know about the Muslim faith does in fact make me anti-Muslim. Perhaps my facts are wrong, and someone with more knowledge than myself could certainly educate me further?

I believe that the Muslim faith teaches that anyone who does not follow the Muslim faith must be killed. That God actually rewards them for doing so with many virgins (not sure what the exact number is) when they get to heaven.

If that statement is actually true and based on fact, then I am sorry to say, yes, I am anti-Muslim as far as the "group" is concerned. In addition, knowing that the people who crashed the planes in New York were all Muslims, as were the people who planned the attack, adds to my anti Muslim position.

That being said, I still do not judge any individual based on any preconceived notion, I believe in giving someone the chance to show me by way of words and actions what kind of human being they are.

Finally, I so agree with you in that no matter what faith or ethnicity, no one should ever purposefully endanger the life of a child as is evident in that video footage I saw yesterday.

To be honest I deleted this post once and someone put it back since I beleived and still beleive it crosses the line, esp the way it is worded.

Those of the Islamic faith are fighting with us in the battle against terrorist. Many of those terrorsts are Muslim but that no more makes the fath bad then those who lock thierself up in compounds with guns and call thierself Christians make thier faith bad.

Next for one to beleive anything they see on you tube or almost any part of the internet without finding out more.
