    Why are Greek men controlling?
I was in a relationship with a Greek man and I lost my identity. Luckily he broke up with me. But he did the following in case any of you are dating one or plan to marry one,
Controlling. Made me ru his errands
Lazy: didn't have a car and made me drive him around
Penny pincher. Was so cheap and would only take me out to dinner "if I did something nice for him"
Would take off on the weekends with other people and would make me pick him up at the train station.
Wore only two pairs of underwear because he was so cheap
Never introduced me to any of his friends
He used meand was a control freak... and the same could happen to you!!

I've known men of other nationalities like that, so it's not a Greek thing. And I've known Greek guys who were the total opposite. That kind of behavior does not belong to only one culture.

Regardless of the nationality, what did you learn from the whole experience?

Is this a rhetorical question and rant or are you looking for advice about why you allowed yourself to lose your identity? There is a big difference between stereotyping a certain segment of the human population while ranting about your ex and actually wanting advice on what happened in the relationship and how to keep from repeating the same mistakes.

On the chance you are here for more than using our site to bash your ex and Greek men, I do have some advice. If you choose to be angry and attack your ex without taking responsibility for your own behavior, you will keep repeating this pattern other men.

Before you get into another relationship, take some time to rebuild the one you have with yourself. Find your self-respect and confidence. Look for ways to strengthen them. Then look for someone who enhances how you feel about yourself and is willing to work with you to build a strong and healthy relationship.

Good luck in healing, rebuilding and moving forward with your life.
