who do you choose parents or partner?

Imagine that you are in a relationship and you love the person you are with so much and you also love your parents. However, your parents don't like your partner, but you want to spend the rest of your life with this person. Who do you choose?

Do you listen to your parents as they might be right or wise?

or

Do you go with your heart and continue to see this person but loose your family support?

My girlfriend left me because her parents don't like me for things my ex wife says about me. I have been divorced for about four years and she wont give up on making my life miserable.
I had been with my ex girlfriend for about the fours years that i have been divorced. i have have been their more than her parents. This is what I told my Ex Girlfriend.

Do what your heart tells you to do cause one day you may loose the love of your life. I love you so much that im willing to work things out with your parents. i know its going to be hard but together we can help our relationship stay together. But if you truly believe that its best if we break up than i will truly respect your decision.

I really recommend Praying it has sure helped me alot. and even though i know that i dont deserve the way she treats me i love her that im still waiting, but not for long!!

C'mon! only a very insecure , immature person would leave if they really wanted to stay.
Every family, every generation has its rebels who defy thier parents, unless we are talking 'lord of the manor' type of inheiritance being dangled here. Being disinvited to Mama's sunday dinner as opposed to being married to the one you love... hard choice. My guess is he just doesn't want to be seen as the bad guy, so lets the parents be the boogeymen. He is weak, why do you want to deal with that. If he did come back, do you want your children to be exposed to the second class treatment they will endure in a family thtat has drawn a line against you?
