So, my gf and i have been dating for 2 months now and i cant help but feel worried. Her and one of my friends dated for 1 year 1 month and 11 days before they broke up 6 months ago. I have liked her for 4 years now and my biggest regret was that i didnt ask her out when i knew that she liked me and i most definately liked her...she is perfect... unfourtunately, she moved away my 10th grade year (i am a senior right now) and came back about the end of it due to....well it doesnt matter...i should have asked her out that day but waited...2 months later, she started dating my friend. i was jealous...but when she broke up with hime, her and i dating wasnt even on my mind. it wasnt until we took a school trip when her and i connected. i asked her out a week later and she said yes! but her ex boyfriend, my former friend kept cussing me out and calling me a backstabber...but i like her so much....since then, he has been blackmailing her, giving her the guilt trip, and basically dating her without dating her….talking to her all the time, taking her out to eat, and telling her that I am white trailer trash. Because he was the first person that she said she loved, she still talks to him and is now using what she says against her, or against me…now, she is or seems to be missing her ex and i don’t know what to do…I love her now, just because of all the joy she has been bringing to me. She is so gorgeous and so sweet…her smile makes me just feel so good…like nothing else matters….i have to compete with all that he has already done and I would do anything to keep her. I really don’t like to hear about her ex but when she doesn’t say anything, I worry that they are still talking and hanging out. She seems to like him still and I cant blame them after 13 months…but what can I do to make sure she doesn’t go back to him…I don’t want her to go back to him and leave me here, still regretting not asking earlier. How do I get her over her ex????

Well the first thing you can do is stop worrying about her going back to him, this will surely drive her away. Zone in, When you are together, be together. Avoid talk of exs, do what ever you can to make her happy, make her laugh. It's true - someone might forget what you said to them but they will never forget how you made them feel. Make her feel loved.

Stop worrying about him and focus, on the two of you. Give her the benefit of having a brain, and stop worrying about him being your competition. That insecurity, is unattractive, and beneath you.
