Here's a small part of what I Love You means to me... just a tip of the iceberg, if you will...

Love

I love you
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am
When I am with you.

I love you,
Not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what
You are making of me.

I love you
For the part of me
That you bring out;

I love you
For putting your hand
Into my heaped-up heart
And passing over
All the foolish, weak things
That you can't help
Dimly seeing there,

And for drawing out
Into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked
Quite far enough to find

I love you because you
Are helping me to make
Of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern
But a temple.

Out of the works
Of my every day
Not a reproach
But a song.

I love you
Because you have done
More than any creed
Could have done
To make me good.
And more than any fate
Could have done
To make me happy.

You have done it
Without a touch,
Without a word,
Without a sign.

You have done it
By being yourself.
Perhaps that is what
Being a friend means,
After all.

i dont see a reason to complicate it. im not one for pretense. "i love you" isnt about head games or manipulation, appeasing the other or positioning.

i tell my wife i love her because i do. same for the reverse. its nice to hear the truth.

no more complicated than that, tho' some say it for all the wrong reasons, im sure.

kp2171, I heard "I love you", and then I was hurt by the first person who said it to me. I think it is too easy for people to say it .

it can mean nothing or everything.

a liar is a liar, no matter what the words are.

I don't want to be a liar. I don't want to say it easily to a person now. But I am leaving him.

Love and saying that you love someone means something different to everyone.

For me, saying I love you means that I accept you for who and what you are, I love you even though sometimes you hurt me, because I know it's not intentional, I love you because even though I have faults you still accept me, I love you because you look at me and I know you'd die for me if you had to, I love you because you are the person you are.

When I hear I love you it's the same as above only I'm the one that he feels that way about.

It's easy to say I love you, anyone can do it, but to show someone love everyday of their lives is not as easy, and that's what real love is.
