Is it love

If you broke up with someone a year ago but the person still had strong feelings for you. is that love or is it just obsession?

Is it love?? I doubt it, though the feelings are intense, he has never got over you. He could just be lonely, and missing you.

Yea, I agree. It does not sound like love, maybe a strong infatuation or his fear of being alone. Couples get comfortable with each other and forget who they are as an individual so as soon as a break up happens, they don't think they can survive without that person
