How to know if hes the right one?

Ive been with my bf for over a year. Things are going downhill now. Weve known eachother for a very long time. Started dating then moved in shortly after. Now things arent to good. We fight alot and im not very happy. I dont think that we should be fighting every day its not "normal" to me. Im not sure if I should break up with him or not. When I go back home without him, im not missing him anymore....before it would drive me nuts. Now all I do is cry. The worst part is that hes been amazing to me. Cant ask for a better bf, always there when I need him never put me down, nothing like that. We just fight about stupid little things, that sometimes I guess I over react about, but still, I just dont know anymore. Before we would talk about marriage and I woudl get happy, now I dont even think about it.....

I just dont know what to do anymore......

Communicate. Communication is key. Does he know that you feel this way? I had that feeling in the beginning of my relationship. And we did break up for two months. It was the worst mistake of my life, and fortunately he forgave me and took me back. TALK to him. Let him know where you are having doubts.

on-line advice is ALWAYS dangerous, but I think that if you are always fighting NOW, wait until the issues of marriage arise ($, kids, in-laws etc).

If you spend a lot of time unhappy in a relationship its time to bail. It may b e nobody's fault, you just don't make it together. Better to find out now.

Remember, I don't know you and I could be all wet. I do know that I've been married for 37 years. It would never have lasted if one of us was constantly unhappy.

Just a warning, if your unhappy now, and can't work together to solve your issues to the benefit of you both, marriage is not your next move. I think you need space to find out why your unhappy. Then what will it take to change that unhappy, to happy.

ChihuahuaMomma agrees: EXACTLY!!!!! That's what I did, and I realized that most of the problem was within me..

I have to tell you, I just went through a similar situation...

My ex broke up with me about a month ago because she claimed she was unhappy. She was totally honest with me throughout (which I greatly appreciate) and told me that she had issues with the way she treated me. Looking back, she didn't always treat me that well and she started to see it herself. She told me that she hated the way she acted and wanted to work on making herself a more complete, better person. She also told me that she felt terrible about the whole situation because I treated her so well. All I can do is respect that and move on.

See, it really wasn't anyone's fault. She is trying to improve upon herself, and I'm just trying not to get left behind.

Being together happily needs tolerance, considerate minds, and mutual care.
Maybe it is because you get too close before marriage. So there is not fresh things already. Just like in marriage, people outside the wall want to get in, but people inside the wall want to get out. But marriage is not always with excitement, and it is actually as quiet as lake. If there is some attraction beyond pretty face, nice figure, or enthusiastic action between you two, you could still get together with so called love.
