How do I get my exboyfriend back?

My boyfriend and I just broke up 3 days ago and it has been really tough on me. I love him with all my heart and everything i have. We've been dating for a little more than a year and it was great! but like a week ago I had a dream about him, so I told one of my friends and she asked what the dream was about. I told her that it was about my boyfriend cheating on me. well I later found out that she told my boyfriend that I thought he WAS cheating....and that made him mad.

we've broken up before and we always manage to get back together...but I'm afraid that we wont.

How can I get him back?

You shouldn't really take dreams seriously, but that doesn't matter now. Just have a real heartfelt talk with him, and apologize that you thought he was cheating on you (try to explain that your friend had a misunderstanding and it was just a dream, you didn't actually think he was cheating on you), and you would like to get back together with him. If he loves you, I'm sure he would understand.

allswell disagrees: I believe our dreams can offer deep insight into our psyche. You're not thinking when you're sleeping.

Hi. Since you didn't give much detail, I don't really know how to answer with specifics. Who broke up with whom? Why? Why did it happen before and were the issues resolved?

I felt like I needed to say something in response to your dream. Unlike the previous poster, I believe our dreams offer deep, deep insight into our psyche. And no, I'm not one of those "new age" people. When we're asleep, there are no inhibitions; there is no rational thought--it's just the pure, unadultered inner workings of your mind. How you interpret them is the key--and it usually doesn't work with the help of a book or a friend (more on that later). Psychologits are great at prodding and can lead you in the general right direction. You can also do this yourself, but it takes a lot of work and soul searching. Dreams are usually not clear cut, either. There are many dimensions to them.

If you ex's feelings are still important to you, then I'd write him a nice email, explaining/clarifying the situation. Something like: "It was just brought to my attention that X told you X. That's not what happened. I had a dream in which you X, and I told my friend about it, who interpreted it this way, and somehow the story got out of control. I didn't initimate that you were cheating or have cheated on me. Just wanted to clear the air."

And as for your friend, what's her problem? Why has she taken it upon herself to relay personal information to him? Is she your friend? Or his? If it's his friend, I'd watch what I say to her from now on.

After being with him for close to a year - the one you should have told about your dream directly was your partner - not a so-called friend. Another lesson learned - that's how we grow and know better next time.

Speaking of dreams - most dreams that my mother had in her life, and most dreams I have are actually happening as we dream them when it comes to people in our lives. My mother described the room, town, time, and woman's name who my Dad cheated with and had his bags packed and in the street the next morning when he came home. My dreams saved my life several times - convincing me to fly to NY on the 18 of September , instead of a week earlier. In my case - I strongly believe that my Guardian Angels communicate with me. This also happens when I am awake. So.. so much for dreams.

Take what you know and feel and go with it. If he is offended then there is a reason and neither of you communicated enough. I'd let this one go back into the pond and catch a fish that respects you and deserves you.

Good luck, and belated Happy New Year.

allswell agrees: Excellent. His pretense of having taken offense is suspicious.

If he broke up over a doggone dream, then he isn't all that is he. Get new friends, and a new boyfriend.
