He wants to break NC. What should I do?

Asked Jun 15, 2012, 01:14 PM — 1 Answer
I have just managed to get back on track after a heartbreaking break up and my ex starts to give me signs that he still loves me after 6 weeks of no contact. It was him who initiated it and I fear I will have to face him soon because I'm sort of a good friend with his sister and since he's coming home and I'm usualy around, I will have to talk to him...and I know he won't miss a chance to get me to talk. I haven't talked with his sister about 'us' and I don't want to either, because I don't think I can rely on her (they are sister and brother, I'm just a friend), so I have to deal with it on my own. But I have no idea how to take this...

I feel so much better and I finally reached my longed goals. I love my life just the way it is and I'm very positive about my future, but there he comes and my world is suddenly upside down. He makes me realize how amazig is his life compared to mine and that I have a one million chance that I met such a wonedrful person. But all these make me feel like sinking in bitter-sweet waters. So, I'm still quite vulnerable around him...but I think I can control myself if I know what's best for both.

Should I answer his text messages if he sends me any? How should I act when I meet him: as if I don't have anything more than a friendship feeling towards him and as if I don;t care about what he did or should I act a little bit ironically / angry?

Truth and honesty, just ignore him, or when you see him tell him you have no interest, and under no circumstances ever allow any one to bring you down and doubt yourself, and what you are doing. Never. You have worked too hard to get to where you are, so you tell him to leave you alone.

Even if you agree to be friends, make yourself unavailable and scarce for any of his BS!!! Stand firm for yourself, and maybe its not a good idea to hang around with his sister, at their house for a while. People, places, and things can stir up a lot of feelings, and some uncomfortable situations, avoid them if you can, but if you cannot, be honest with yourself and others and look out for your own interests.

Who cares what he wants now, or what he feels? He blew it and dumped you, so don't get fooled again.
