Was i being unreasonable, immature, and difficult?

My guy friend and I were chatting on msn, and we always joke around and tease each other, but today one of us has cross the line. It was me >_>, so i apologized quickly and he accepted it, but he wanted to get me back, so he did something really mean.

Basically what happened was, we were talking about his gf, and for some reason they are keeping their relationship a secret, so i still don't know who the gf is or how she looks like. So i asked him what he got her for xmas, and he doesn't know yet. So he asked if i had any suggestions. Since i don't even know how the girl looks like of course i wouldn't have any suggestion. But i was also frustrated that he is keeping it a secret, so i said "I don't know. Since you are not telling me who she is, for all i know she could be a guy". That's when he got really offended, and he was like "Gee, thanks kaitou". I apologized quickly, i seriously didn't think it would offend him. He accepted the apology, but retailiate with this

"you still have hope kaitou" (p.s. i'm single, and had a tough time over my last breakup)

i didn't understand the meaning of it at the beginning, i thought he was just showing a video that he thought was funny. so i replied with "this man is disgusting", and he said "ok maybe you wouldn't go that low". That's when i realized what he meant. I felt really upset, i wasn't angry. In my mind i was thinking "oh, so this is what you think of me". So i replied to him with "Let's not meet up on thursday".

We were suppose to meet up on thursday after our last exams to celebrate, and we haven't seen each other a few months, so we were both really looking forward to it. But i was just really upset.

So after i said that he apologize a few times, and gave me lots of chances to reconcile. But being difficult and prideful, i didn't reconcile or officially accept his apology. I wasn't even angry, i was just really upset.

So he was like "alright then, have a happy holidays" and i was like "thanks, you too". And then we stopped talking.

So was i being unreasonable and difficult and immature?

After that incident, i went to take a shower, and thought about it. I thought that most people would let it slide, and be ok with it by now, but i'm just being difficult. He's a great friend, and that i shouldn't let something like this ruin our friendship. I should just reconcile with him and stuff and apologize for my comment again as well. So after i took my shower i came back downstair all ready to apologize and stuff, but he was offline.

So i guess i'll just have to wait now. Anyways all this happened in the span of less than 20 mins. What do you guys think? I think he's pissed at me now too though. *sigh*

Ill admit it may have been a tad insenstive for him to show you that and make that smart remark but im sure had no malice in his actions, to him it was just a harmless joke just like how you made a comment to him that may have bothered him, but he if it did bother him he shook it off as a joke, and you should do the same, Friendship is more important then being bothered by a stupid joke especially good friends.

Maybe its best for you both to cool off, and see how dumb you both were. If your really friends, this will blow over.
