Can I get her back? We have a 6 year old boy.

I was with her for 6 years. We had good and bad times but never argued that much. She tells me only time will tell if we can fix our relationship. I was dumb an needy . I got addicted to pills and was not my self. She says she still cares about me but doesn't feel the same. She want to have my sons birthday party together. I just don't get it. It been 5 weeks. She moved out an got her own apt . I want a second chance for my sons sake. I want myself and I am clean and sober now. What do I do?

Clean and sober for 5 weeks is no time at all....its going to take a lot longer to show you can keep it up.

But this all rests on her...if she doesn't want you any more...and never does...there is nothing you can do....

Keep up the sobriety and give her the space she wants, only time will tell the rest.

Forget the relationship, just put your best foot forward, and focus on being a great dad. When she is ready for a second look, make sure it was better than the last one. You know when you were a dumb needy pill popper.

Don't waste this opportunity to get her back, focus on you, your continuing sobriety, and your SON.
