This SUCKS! I went to a show last night with a TON of friends and we were all having a great time. My buddy was there with this girl he is daqting that I have been VERY good friends with for years...longer than Ive known this guy. Anyways, we are all walking back to the car and I here my friend (the girl one) talking about me saying "Im one of here best firends" then I hear my buddy talking ALOT of smack about me... I couldnt believe it. He was saying stuff like "I cant stand him anymore" and "I dont know why people hang out with him". I have never had a problem like this with any of my buddies EVER....so I was like !? I started walking next to him asking him what the problem is, and what I did to piss him off and he tells me "I dont know what you are talking about". Now, he does this kind of crap when he talks smack to people at the bars....he tries to look cool and when they come up to him he backs down, but I really wanted to know what the problem was. His little brother was there and starts mouthing off to me saying what his brother did, but I just brushed it off and told him if he cant be a man about it and talk to me about it, thats cool. I walk away and get a beer thrown ALL OVER ME! I pretty much go balistic and fight him and his brother (with one of my other buddies). things get broken up, and I still dont even know why it happened. Is it because of my friendship with the girl he is dating? I am still mad about it, but this is stupid. I talked to my other friends about it and they said "dont worry about it" I guess it just made me wonder about my friends. I havent know this guy all that long, but I thought he was one of my good buds. Alchohol was involved in this BTW. Thoughts?

Good to hear from you! Wish it was under better circumstances.

When alcohol, women, and jealous men are thrown in to the pot then there is always a big chance it is going to boil over.

Sadly, you have just discovered that someone you thought was friend, isnt much of one after all.

It isnt nice but you cant do anything about it. Accept him for being a grub and move on with your life.

If your other friends take his side and didnt see that he was being a jerk then I guess that shows to you that they arent as good a friends as you thought either.

Well your buddies know your right, so no need to worry there. Sounds like you stuck up for yourself which im in favor of. I never advocate fighting but if i have to stick up for myself then there is no way known youll see me back down from anyone. Im glad you didnt either Jeff.

As far as this other guy goes, perhaps he was way to drunk and got carried away. It might and probably has somehtign to do with this girl he is dating. He may be concerned about your relationship with her.

Perhaps next time you see this guy Jeff, you could be a man, shake his hand and offer no hard feelings and ask him again, when he is sober why he has a problem with you.

You may get an honest answer that he doesnt like your relationship with his girl. then you can assure him that he has nothing to worry about and he should have complete confidence in you and her.

Im not saying to run to him and kiss his ar$e, but there is no harm either in showing some class and offering an olive branch! After all you obviously have mutual friends so this thing is better off being resolved.

Actually, the first time i ever met one of my now best mates, me and him had a punch up in a pub over another friend of mine. Stupid and alcohol fueled but we now have a good laugh about it and are great mates!
