    My boyfriend says I don't care enough. I love him!
    I am 16, my boyfriend is 18. We are both in high school. My boyfriend says that I don't care enough about him enough, or I don't show him that I care. But he has been driving me crazy! He freaks out about everything and makes everything be my fault. He is really sensitive, if I tell him in passing that I will call, he waits for me to call and gets upset when I don't. He is rich and he buys me nice gifts, and I say thank you and maybe get/make him a card ( I don't have much money) but then he expects gifts in return. So I tried to get him a necklace, he said it was too girly and he didn't like it. I gave him one of my favorite books with my opinions written into it and what I thought about it. When I bought a the book for myself he got mad. He wants me to show that I care, I like him a lot but I don't know how to show him that I do care, I thought that by hanging out with him and talking with him was good. But I don't know what to do. We got in a fight about all this and much more, I was really close to breaking up with him but I like him too much, almost love him.

    Sounds like he is a spoiled rich boy that thinks money buys love.
    You are probably better off without him if he can't appreciate you for your personality.
    Ask him what he thinks are your good qualities that he is attracted to.

    At this age it's smart not to take yourself too seriously nor should you take your friend too seriously. Work on taking your responsibilities seriously and all the other STUFF will vanish into thin air.

    I think you are better off without him. He sounds very insecure and controlling and sounds like you don't care to be controlled. Doesn't sound like a match at all. Walk away and focus on being 16. Dating is suppose to be fun. If a relationship isn't uplifting to both parties it's not a good relationship.

    Care is a very subtle thing. If your care comes from your sincere heart, it's natural and he'll feel it sooner or laterbut if you care because you want to or you need to, it's not natural and he can tell the difference. But if he can't feel the care from your sincere heart after a period, it's obvious that he isn't into you at all, then don't waste anymore time and walk away.
