Hey guys, haven't posted in awhile but wanted to get some advice from all the good people on here. Anyways, I had a quick question. For some reason everytime I talk to my ex girlfriend I get really nervous and have to struggle just to talk normal. Most of the time I can cut up and be goofy but it can strike me at anytime, like mid conversation. My heart just starts racing and I feel completely out of it. She calls me about once a week and I can't understand why I get like that. It's almost like I have butterflies or something. We're on good terms now but it almost makes me not want to talk to her because I can totally be cool with other women and not stress it. I still care for the ex a ton and haven't made an attempt to get back with her but just wondering if you guys had any advice on why I get nervous and what I can do about it? I still like talking to her. Thanks guys!

Well you get nervous because you still like her and you don't want to screw up. You've also made her out to be a "Goddess" or something of higher value then you are. She is not. She's a human being just like you. As such you should treat her that and take her off the pedestal you've put her on. One way to do that is not talk to her on her terms. If she's leading the coversation, or you start getting nervous excuse yourself from it. You can call her back later when it will be to your advantage and you've calmed down. Also, if you can do this, just imagine her as a friend and talk to her accordingly. That might help you bring some of the tension out of the air.
I wouldnt be shocked if she still likes me but she is being super hesitant. I think she isn't completely sure that I have changed but she sure does seem to be sniffing around alot more now than ever. For months there everytime I had finally gave up on her she would come a calling. Now we talk a fair amount and I picked her up at the airport last week and that was the first time I had seen her in 4 months. I can tell she isn't ready to be my girl again but the fact that I haven't been sweating her has definately got her interest up.
