If I pay my landlord rent in advance on the first of the month and the landlord's home is foreclosed on in that same month, do I have the right to get that money back or does my landlord have the right to keep it?

For example, I paid July's rent of $1,500 on July 1st and the home was subsequently foreclosed on July 7th.

Is there a specific law that I can look to that provides guidance here? I could not find anything explicit in the Texas Property Code.

Thank you

please stop asking the same question over and over. Merley ask it once and keep adding more info to that question.

I tried to merge your posts but lost most of the answers.

Was the house actually foreclosed on as a final? Or did foreclosure proceedings just start?

If the foreclosure was finalized, and the new owner demands rent for the balance of the month you can try telling him to go after the original owner, but more likely you will have to pay the new owner and sue the previous owner.
