where to find used mobile home

My wife and I are buying a piece of land soon. We want to find a used mobile home to start with, as we are in it for the land. Any advice or starting places?

Try trailer parks.

pdoubleu disagrees: redundant
gazelleintense disagrees: seems a bit... rude?
Curlyben agrees: Balancer
shygrneyzs agrees: There is nothing wrong with this answer. Trailer parks have used trailers for sale quite often, just check with the park's management.

Just make sure your not getting the mobile home thinking it will increase in value... they usually do not.

My response wasn't meant to be rude. It did sound harsh, and I now know that. To that gentleman I apologize. I wanted links, or something. Not trailers in trailer parks. As for the value quip, the question states the value is the land. The question is about temporary housing, while permanent work is being done. A website with this information is what I need.

I know my answer was obvious but it answered the question.

Did you try googling Used mobile homes? You might also ask the people building on the land or your insurance company. Often trailers are provided while repair work is done.

Buying a used mobile home, your best bet is to do that locally, so you can see the home. Try your local newspaper, your mobile home dealers (yes, they sell used ones, the ones they have taken in trade on new ones), trailer parks often have homes for sale that were rented out but the owner wants to sell. Put your own ad in the newspaper.

Check with FEMA - they have those portable homes that were used in Katrina and other disasters. I did see a news article that they were trying to unload them all. Maybe you can access one before they go to the Reservations.

If you have options, please don't get a mobile home, its value depreciates, u will never gain anything.
