    Selling house in ny state - question?
    My husband and I are selling our home in ny state. My name is not on the deed. Will this matter at the time of sale, as far as splitting profit. Do I need to have my name added before this takes place?

    Unless you don't trust him to give you your half of the profit.

    At this point your husband is selling his house in NY, since your name is not on it, it is not your house.

    You can draw up a contract with your husband on the sale of the house as to the split of the profit. Also even with your name on the title, it only means that you have to sign for the sale, it does not say who gets what percentage of the money at closing.
