I live in Joplin, Missouri and found an old abandoned store / home that I would like to buy however I don't know who owns it. So, here is my question. How do I find out who owns
an abandoned home ?

This is very easy, you go to the county court house and look up the deed this tells you first if there is any lien against the home and then who the deeded owner is.

next you go over to the property tax department and see how much the yearly tax is, and who is having the bill sent to them ( sometimes the owner is not where the taxes are going) But that gives you a address and person to contact about the property.

In some areas this info is online but also sometimes online info is out of date
