when will the Baucus forclosure housing bill pass?

The Baucus Grassley housing bill has passed the Senate by 63 to 5. It will be voted on Wednesday in the House, and will probably pass. My question is how long does it normally take for a bill like this to be enacted.

I am going to wait to buy a forclosure if it will be in effect before the first of the year. Otherwise I may as well get on with it. Any ideas?
