virginia roommate - not on lease - will not vacate
I currently live in an apartment with 1 other girl. I am the only person on the lease. Last week, my roommate started verbally abusing me, screaming at me, and making false, ungrounded accusations. I do not feel comfortable in my home, and fear for the safety of my animals that are in the apartment when I am at work. I tried to ask her politely to leave, and this turned into world war III in our home. I am at a loss, and our lease isn't up until July 1st. I do not want to move out, as I specifically moved into this place so I could have a yard for my dog, and have lived in the neighborhood for years. Is there anything I can do to make her leave, without myself facing the repercussions of having someone living with me who was not on the lease? Please help! I feel like I am stuck in a horrible high school drama and can't get it!!

    Hello k:

She's YOUR tenant. Therefore you can evict her. Give her a written 30 day notice to vacate. If she doesn't leave, evict her.
